What is Epithalon?
Epithalon, sometimes spelled Epitalon, is Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. It was synthesised to reproduce the active portion of epithalamin, a pineal extract studied by Vladimir Khavinson's group. In cell culture its best-known research thread is activation of telomerase expression in cultured human cells and effects on telomere length, though most of that work comes from a limited set of laboratories. Because the molecule is only four residues long, purity testing is simple but impurity profiles still matter, as a single deletion changes the compound entirely.
