What is GHRP-6?
GHRP-6 is the hexapeptide His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2. It came out of 1980s work on met-enkephalin derivatives that unexpectedly released growth hormone in vitro, and the receptor it acts on was only identified later as the ghrelin receptor. That history makes it a useful historical benchmark: newer secretagogue scaffolds are often compared with GHRP-6 in binding and signalling assays. It is supplied as a lyophilised powder for in-vitro laboratory research only, not for human or veterinary use.
