Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analogue, a 32-residue peptide engineered by Novo Nordisk as a structural relative of native human amylin with extended pharmacokinetics. Research has focused on amylin receptor agonism (AMY1, AMY2, AMY3) and downstream effects on food intake, gastric emptying and energy homeostasis. Cagrilintide is most extensively studied in combination with semaglutide (the CagriSema research programme), where the amylin and GLP-1 mechanisms have demonstrated complementary activity in late-stage metabolic trials.
